The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is the world’s leading standard for the processing of recycled materials. GRS sets out high environmental and social requirements for the processing of fibres throughout the entire textile supply chain. These include, amongst other things, the ILO’s core labour standards, including the prohibition of child labour. HAKRO has been certified in accordance with the GRS criteria since 2020.

HAKRO has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation since 2021. As an internationally recognised multi-stakeholder initiative, the Foundation assesses working conditions in production facilities in accordance with the Fair Wear Foundation Code of Conduct. In an annual Brand Performance Check, HAKRO is assessed on the audits carried out and the associated measures taken to ensure social justice in production. The results of this are published on fairwear.org. In addition, HAKRO reports annually on the progress made by its production partners.
